Driving to Druimnacroish, Isle of Mull.

From the South

The most popular route is to drive to Oban and catch the main car ferry to Craignure on Mull.

From Glasgow, take the A82 past Loch Lomond. Then either :

From Edinburgh, take the M9 to Stirling, then the A84 through Callander. Join the A85 to Crianlarich, and left at Tyndrum to Oban.

Arriving in Oban, drive straight into town, along the front and the ferry terminal is well signposted.

For the Oban ferry, always make a reservation for your car with Caledonian MacBrayne. Tel. 0800 066 5000, or visit www.calmac.co.uk. You must be at the ferry 30 minutes before sailing.

A comfortable journey time from Edinburgh to Oban is around 3 hours. From Glasgow, a little less.

From the North (Mallaig/Fort William/Inverness)

Smaller car ferries run from Morvern (Lochaline - Fishnish) and Ardnamurchan (Kilchoan - Tobermory). There is no advance booking on these boats, you simply wait for the next available place.

Journey time from Ardgour to Lochaline is around 45 minutes.

Journey time from Mallaig to Lochaline is at least 90 minutes; rather more from Mallaig to Kilchoan.

Once on Mull

As you come off the ferry at either Craignure or Fishnish, turn right towards Tobermory. After about ten miles you pass through the village of Salen and the road becomes single track. Follow the coastline for another mile, then just before the bridge, take the left fork, sign-posted Dervaig. Drive for another nine miles and Druimnacroish is on your left, two miles short of the village itself.

Or, leaving Tobermory, take the Dervaig road (sign-posted). After eight steep and winding miles, as you come down the hill into Dervaig, keep on the main road, bearing left around the white painted village pub ("The Bellachroy"). Just after the church (on your left) and before the bridge, turn left (sign-posted Salen & Craignure). Druimnacroish is almost two miles along this road, on your right.

Following these routes, Druimnacroish is around 30-40 minutes from Craignure, 25-35 minutes from Fishnish and 20-30 minutes from Tobermory.
